Roe Applauds the Town of Erwin on Receiving $25,000 Grant
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-TN) congratulated the town of Erwin on receiving a $25,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development to purchase six new, reliable Sedan Police Interceptor AWD vehicles. This grant will allow the town to update their current vehicles which are currently deteriorating and running up costs with maintenance expenses.
“I am pleased USDA Rural Development is working to provide this funding to Erwin as we join together to make the First District safer,” said Rep. Roe. “Providing local law enforcement the resources they need is critical to ensure Erwin remains a great place to live and work. I’m glad Erwin’s police department’s vehicles will receive this much-needed update so they are able to offer better services to the people of Erwin.”
“The Town of Erwin is very appreciative of this grant,” said Doris Hensley, Mayor of the Town of Erwin. “These funds will help quite significantly with providing safety for our citizens and visitors. We would like to extend a sincere "Thank You" to USDA Rural Development, and especially to Congressman Roe for their support and interest in our town.”
