WASHINGTON, D.C.  – Today, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-Tenn.) released the following statement after being sworn in to serve in the 115th Congress:

“Serving the First Congressional District is a privilege, and I am honored and excited to be given this opportunity. For the last eight years, Tennesseans have struggled under President Obama’s reckless and misguided policies, and I look forward to working with President-elect Trump in the new Congress to get our country back on track. Whether it’s creating and keeping good-paying jobs in the United States, repealing Obamacare, standing up for life, defending our Constitutionally-granted rights or finally reforming the VA to get veterans the care and services they’ve earned – I know I’ve got my work cut out for me. Tennesseans deserve results, and I’m ready to roll up my sleeves and help change the direction of this country. I thank East Tennesseans for this tremendous honor and the trust they’ve placed in me, and I encourage anyone in the First District who needs assistance with a federal agency to contact any of my offices.”
