WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Rep. Phil Roe, M.D. (R-TN) released this statement after being sworn in for the 114th Congress:

“Representing the First District in the House of Representatives is a great honor, and I look forward to serving in the 114th Congress. I have many priorities for the upcoming year including: helping constituents cut through red tape and federal bureaucracy, working to promote private-sector job creation and economic growth, stopping the president’s executive amnesty and overreach, continuing oversight of the VA, protecting Tennesseans from Obamacare and cutting the deficit and out-of-control spending – just to name a few. I am truly grateful for the trust placed in me by East Tennesseans, and I vow to work tirelessly to be your voice in Washington and to protect the Constitution. My door is always open, and I encourage you to contact any of my offices if I can be of assistance to you or your family.”

Roe will continue to serve on the Education and the Workforce Committee and chair its Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions; serve on the House Veterans Affairs Committee; and co-chair the GOP Doctors Caucus. The Congressman will also continue serving constituents in the First District with offices in Kingsport, Morristown, and Washington, DC. Contact information for all of Rep.
