WASHINGTON D.C. – Today, Rep. Roe released the following statement on the report released by the Inspector General which confirmed the allegations that veterans were placed on waitlists at the VA hospital in Phoenix:

“Unfortunately, the Inspector General’s interim report has confirmed that this is the worst possible scenario. It is now clear that these serious problems stretch far beyond simple administrative issues, and we must hold someone accountable. I have the utmost respect for Secretary Shinseki and his service and I have enjoyed working with him on behalf of our veterans, but it is with a heavy heart that I call for his resignation. Our veterans deserve better and we must work to make sure fundamental changes are made to the way we care for and treat the men and women that have served this country.”
