Roe Statement on the Veterans’ Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2012
WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Congressman Phil Roe, M.D. (TN-01) released the following statement on H.R. 4114, the Veterans’ Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act of 2012:
“Passage of the Veterans’ Cost-of Living Adjustment Act of 2012 ensures that those who have bravely defended our freedom and their families have the cost-of-living adjustments they deserve. This legislation will deliver greater benefits to deserving veterans in Tennessee and across this nation.
“This bill will provide much needed assistance to veterans and their families. During these tough economic times, millions of Americans are struggling to make ends meet, including many veterans. This bill represents an opportunity to take care of those who have given so much to take care of us, and I am pleased this legislation passed with overwhelming bipartisan support.”
H.R. 4114 would direct the Secretary of the Department of Veterans Affairs to increase the rates of veterans’ disability compensation, compensation for dependents, clothing allowance, and compensation for surviving spouses and children for 2013.
