Roe Named a Taxpayer Hero by the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste
WASHINGTON D.C. – U.S. Congressman Phil Roe, M.D. (TN-01) has been named a Taxpayer Hero by the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste (CCAGW) for his work towards increasing transparency, minimizing waste, permanently eliminating frivolous earmarks, and reducing the ever-growing national debt. Roe received a score of 91 percent in CCAGW’s 2010 Congressional Ratings, which CCAGW notes is a true testament of his willingness to stand up for American taxpayers.
“I am honored to receive recognition as a Taxpayer Hero by the Council for Citizens Against Government Waste,” said Roe. “I believe we can create jobs by creating an environment in which businesses can flourish: with less regulation, low taxes, and access to capital. This includes being accountable to the taxpayers for every dollar the federal government spends, including implementing more transparency measures. I will continue to stand up for the taxpayers’ interests and work towards a solution I believe will move this country in the right direction – a Balanced Budget Constitutional Amendment.”
