November 30, 2010 - Adoption of the rule (H Res 1736) that would provide for House floor consideration of the Senate amendments to the bill that would approve the settlement of claims in the cases of Cobell v. November 30, 2010 - Rahall, D-W.Va., motion to concur in the Senate amendments to the bill that would approve the settlement of claims in the cases of Cobell v. Salazar, involving allegations that the Interior Department mismanaged royalties owed to American Indians, and Pigford II, concerning alleged discrimination by Agriculture Department officials against African-American farmers. It also would approve water rights settlements with American Indian tribes and extend the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families program through fiscal 2011. The bill also includes a variety of offsets, including the rescission of $562 million from the Women, Infants and Children (WIC) nutrition program. Motion agreed to 256-152.
